Our story
Our story emerges from the struggles of the COVID-19 pandemic and our frustration with watching national scribe corporations fail to maintain their commitments to provide Tucson hospitals with scribes. Additionally, we saw a need for drastic improvement in the culture regarding the critical role a scribe has on the patient care team. Many companies in the industry have struggled with turnover and low morale as their scribes felt unappreciated, creating a need we realized needed to be addressed.
Dr. Heinz, who had already employed three scribes privately, saw an opportunity to respond to these challenges. Together, they formed a Tucson-local scribe group; a physician-owned and scribe-run company called Sonoran Scribes
